About Tracey…

Tracey Woods is a creator at heart. 

She is an award winning visuals director and producer armed with years of experience in photo and video shoot production, creative and art direction plus photo research, Woods is currently the Director of Photography at The Luupe and a creative consultant and producer. Prior to this she served as photo director at Essence Communications. 

As an artist and photographer, she draws inspiration from beauty in the unexpected. During summer 2020, her signature artwork adorned the windows of Macy’s flagship stores in New York, San Francisco and Chicago.

An out-of-the-box thinker and astute problem solver, she has overseen projects ranging from celebrity  portraiture, fashion and beauty, to reportage, travel, food and lifestyle content. She has worked with some of the top photographers, stylists, hair and makeup artists in the industry. Brands she has worked with  include Mari by Marsai, Dropbox, EmblemHealth, Revlon Rugby World Cup as well as Ebony, xoNecole, Bon Appétit and InStyle Specials to name a few. Additionally, she’s conducted portfolio reviews, participated on panels and  sat on juries for a number of the industry’s leading organizations including American Photographic Artists, American Society of Media Photographers,  Eddie Adams Workshop, Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, New York Times Portfolio Review, NYC Fotoworks, Palm Spring Photo Festival Photolucida, PhotoVogue and Society of Publication Designers.

Along with sharing her expertise as a workplace mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City, she has volunteered for First Take, the high school workshop sponsored by the New York Association of Black Journalists and hosted by the City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism. 

Woods holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in photography from Pratt Institute and earned her Bachelor of Arts from Rhode Island College. A native of Providence, she now calls Brooklyn, New York home.
